About Tom

Tom Teegan was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  His father was an RAF Pilot who had made Africa home. Tom has traveled the world, from an early age. He was educated at St Malachy’s College, and the Ulster College of Art & Design, both of which are in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The early 1970’s saw him working as a freelance photographer in Belfast. Towards the end of the decade alongside the Press work came more involvement in music and commercial work he opened a studio in the historic town of Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. In 1983 he moved to North Devon to take his business forward, and that is where he eventually met and married Joanne.

Tom, wife Joanne and their family still live in North Devon. He continues to build on his reputation for being a very skilled and creative photographer in PR & Press Photography; this includes his individual style of Portraiture. Delivering strong distinctive imagery for his clientele and he knows how to work to a tight brief provided by his clients. 

With expertise in both Travel & Tourism and the Commercial & Media sectors, his experience in working in over 45 countries for many leading names has proved to be very important not only to him but his clientele. He has a lot of experience in both Aerial Photography and at Seaborne Photography.

Tom was a member of the BIPP for 27 years .Awards have ranged from the BIPP to Kodak, further details are on the Awards page. However he is now a member of the BPPA British Press Photographers Association.
The skills learnt on the streets of Belfast have been put to good use over the years and have been constantly improved on. His strength of Seeing the picture and getting it recorded quickly, accurately without fuss or frills.
